Office & Finance Manager
4 days per week, between £21,000-24,000 (pro rata), depending on experience
Changing Tunes is looking for a new staff member to oversee our day-to-day financial management as well as the overall administration and office management of the charity. The position is for 4 days per week, up to £24,000 pro rata, and is based in central Bristol. We are looking for someone to start work mid-July in order to facilitate a two-week handover period.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day management and leadership of a well-respected and proven charity, and join a friendly and committed team.
The role will be to oversee the operational side of Changing Tunes, including finances, personnel and HR, and the office and administrative functions of the charity. They will play an active role in the leadership team, and support the Chief Executive and trustees. They will also be responsible for line managing two members of the office staff.
The demands of this role require a methodical and organised personality who is also flexible and willing to learn new skills. They should be able to manage time effectively between various areas of responsibility, be a clear communicator with good written skills, and have the ability to understand and present financial information accurately and clearly. Good IT skills (including familiarity with new online tools), and a strong ability to problem-solve are also a real asset in this role.
Changing Tunes is a driven by its values, which are based in the Christian faith. Whilst this role does not need to be undertaken by a Christian, the successful applicant must have sympathy to the core values of the organisation and a commitment to the aims of our work. They must also be comfortable in working alongside churches.
Changing Tunes helps prisoners and ex-prisoners to live positive and meaningful lives by using live music-making to build mentoring relationships. We currently work in 17 prisons in the South West and the Midlands, as well as maintaining our work with ex-prisoners in the community. We are expanding nationally through a programme creating regional franchises.
